Agricultural Performance Standards Information and Education Committee
This multi-agency committee was formed to provide educational assistance on the NR 151 agricultural performance standards and prohibitions to various audiences. Specifically, the committee’s purpose is to:
- Communicate on implementation with links to Land and Water Resource Management Plans
- Assess educational, training and guidance needs
- Identify appropriate outreach and training approaches
- Provide guidance, coordinate training and guide production of outreach materials
- Help counties think about linking NR 151 implementation with LWRMPs and local implementation generally (e.g. tri-county initiative)
- Emphasize LWRMP information and education links with NR 151
- Clarify roles regarding assistance with the I&E chapter of LWRMPs
- Provide a link between educators and policy makers
- Find resources and leveraging opportunities
- Serve as a coordination group and recipient of educational ideas and suggestions
- Inter-agency coordination of training needs for land and water conservation generally and NR 151 specifically
- Not about defining or interpreting specific policy issues
The committee also works with Marathon, Lincoln and Langlade Counties’ as they cooperatively develop a local implementation strategy. Members of the tri-county group assist the I&E committee and serve as a pilot for outreach approaches and materials.
